• Owners of livestock can apply directly at the Stock Brands Office of the FAN Meat division at the Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia, Windhoek OR at local State Veterinary offices.
  • Application forms can be obtained from the Livestock and Livestock Products Board, State Veterinary Offices and Farmers Association Offices or downloaded here:
Documentation required for the issuing of stock brands
Please ensure that the following documents and payments accompany the respective stock brand application forms (New Application, Duplicate and Transfer of stock brand).

For new applications
  • Complete Producer registration application and obtain producer registration number obtained from Marketing department of the Livestock and Livestock Products Board
  • For commercial areas, resettlement farms and townlands: Certified copy of ID, complete application form BR 1 signed by applicant and proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photocopies, faxes or scanned documents accepted).
  • For communal areas: Certified copy of ID, complete application form BR 1 signed by the applicant, traditional authority letter confirming your residence & farming and proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photocopies, fax or scanned documents accepted).

Duplicate of stock brand card or certificate
  • Certified copy of ID, complete duplicate application form signed by owner and proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photo copies, fax or scanned documents accepted).
Transfer of stock brand card or certificate
  • Certified copy of ID of applicant, complete application form BR 5 signed by applicant and owner of Brand, police declaration from brand owner giving consent for the transfer of the stock brand to the new owner, original stock brand/FAN Meat card (if applicable), original stock brand certificate, proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photocopies or fax accepted).
  • In case the brand owner is deceased: Certified copy of ID of applicant, complete application form BR 5 signed by applicant, certified copy of death certificate, original stock brand card/FAN Meat card (if applicable), original stock brand certificate, proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photocopies, fax or scanned documents accepted).
  • In case the original stock brand and/or certificate is lost: Certified copy of ID of applicant, complete application form BR5, police declaration indicating the absent documents, proof of payment via bank deposit slip (no photocopies, fax or scanned documents accepted).
