At its last meeting in November, the Board approved the application for registration of Reho Meat Processors abattoir in Rehoboth. It is the intention of the abattoir owner to eventually upgrade the abattoir to an A-class export abattoir, aimed at the Namibian Wagyu export market. Meanwhile, certified Wagyu beef is slaughtered at Reho Meat Processors for the local market, and Namibians can enjoy Namibian Wagyu first hand. The Meat Board classification department handles the verification and grading of Wagyu in Namibia.
